Review of the fleet

Following the lead of One-eyed Mark* (aye aye), Admiral J. has been reviewing the fleet at ANF HQ.
(*See Mark's fleet review here)

His steady fleet 'building' plan, courtesy of the models produced for Ares' Sails of Glory, is now up to a pretty reasonable 33: 7 frigates and 26 ships of the line.

Julian is aiming for our next game of Napoleonic Naval to be a re-fight of the Glorious First of June using Heart of Oak rules.

If, like me, you only know about this battle in general (or perhaps do not know it at all), you may like to listen to/watch this concise and objective video summary (Maritime Great Britain: The Battle of The Glorious First of June 1794) or even read this detailed account (Alan Payne: The Battle of The Glorious First of June, 1794) that was originally published in the Naval Historical Review, December 1979.

    1. Thanks! I still hope Ares broaden the range as they have promised to do before any attempt is made at Trafalgar. By that time the ANF will have settled on its rule choice - so far we've tested Signal Close Action and Form Line of Battle, so next up is Heart of Oak...once I've acquired another 20 vessels, that is....
